A free Child Safety Festival will be held Saturday, September 13 from 10 am to 4 pm in the parking lot of New York Life at 451 E. Vanderbilt Way in San Bernardino. The Volunteer Center of Riverside County plans to celebrate Grandparent’s Day on September7 by delivering bouquets of flowers to residents of nursing care facilities. For a $25 donation, a bouquet will be delivered by an Ombudsman.
National Grandparent’s Day was first established by Marian McQuade, from West Virginia. Her primary motivation was to champion the cause of lonely elderly residents in nursing homes. This year, Grandparent’s Day falls on September 7. Residents and businesses can participate by making a donation of $25.
